Prepare for your baby

Motherhood phase

Waiting for your newborn?

Parenthood isn’t that easy so you need to have a sincere discussion with your partner about the expectations you both have for having a child. Discuss how you two feel about how parenting responsibilities and domestic chores should be split. When you’re a new parent, equal emotional support is essential. It’s better to be open about this now because not feeling both emotionally and practically supported might cause relationship issues.

Mommies self care

Do not forget to give yourself some time. Research prenatal yoga classes (a great way to relax and meet some like-minded moms to be). Additionally, you and your partner should get as much sleep as you can. This is the ideal time to enjoy lazy weekend lie-ins with your partner since if you become parents, you’ll be sleep-deprived for a long time.

Reasonable expectations is a must

Avoid having excessive expectations for your babies from your parents.

There is no such thing as a perfect parent, so start saying it aloud right now. Give yourself a break. Breastfeeding may come naturally to you or it may require some persistence on your part. You won’t know your baby’s temperament or his expected feeding/sleeping habits until he is born. Accept the unknown and resist letting it Out of mind.

Keep yourself relaxed and don’t panic, and enjoy your journey.
